Last April I found this little girl in the road...badly hurt...in need of someone to love her. She was only 3 months old.

So Dr Ketzner and the wonderful folks at Welborn fixed her up and we brought her home...

She slept a lot...she needed the rest to heal.

We loved her.

And loved her...

She went to the park.

She learned how to swim.

Almost there!

She's a good swimmer!

She met some new friends.

Manda calls her Itty Bitty...

She learned some tricks.

She sat on the porch...looking cute.

And sat on the porch some more...

She went for some bike rides.

Bike rides are fun!

She has a favorite toy. She thinks it's a squirrel.

She went to a regatta...and got a ride in mama's backpack. With an ice pack.

She took naps...

Learned how to Kayak

'"Ummm...am I okay?"

"Mama? Where are you?"

Mama?

Andrew is her favorite Kayaking partner...

On the river.

Tough girl...all 13 pounds of her.

Out for a run.

She won a Halloween costume contest. Best Banana ever!

In November she got a brother...

Couch time.

And now most of the pictures are of them sleeping because it's the only time they stop moving.

Naps are the best and sometimes she gets the comfy spot all to herself.

A sweet friend from Colorado (we love you Margaret!) sent her a real squirrel. And she loves Kati and Ann and Grace, too!

Macy and Henry spend a lot of time at the park...running.

And swimming.

Nothing better than the wind in your face and a buddy right beside you! As long as he's not hogging all the window space.

Loves to explore...can you see Henry right behind her?

She loves to go for rides...

She loves toys.

The stuffing is her favorite part.

She met Santa...and he might have been drunk...

A Christmas nap.

And of course she loves the Jayhawks...

Macy...you and Brother are the best things in my life.

A New Year…A New Photo Project

The Last One of 2011

It’s been a great year.
One of many changes.
Challenges.
Adventures.
I am excited to see what 2012 will toss my way. I know there are some new things ahead as well as the opportunity to continue some things I discovered in 2011.
There will be many long walks with my crazy, much loved pups. Another Camp Dot this summer. Perhaps a trip to the National Fire Academy. Spin class and rowing, settling in to 1st shift, a brand new niece and a new little cousin, graduations and a 70th birthday for both Mom and Dad.
Lots to do…
But now, now I have a coffee, some brown pelicans and the gulf of Mexico. I think I’ll sit a while…or maybe I’ll go find some breakfast.

Happy Birthday to this darling girl. She turns 2 today and her Aunt Jenn loves her very much.

And I made the mistake of asking the very creative Louisiana nephew if he wanted to play Go Fish…about 6 hours ago. He spent the last several hours creating a handmade Go Fish game. So now we play.

The true December Photo Challenge ends on Christmas day but I’ve always continued for the rest of the month. Sporadic but I give it a go…
Santa left a little something for me in my stocking in Texas…well timed seeing as I spent yesterday with Dr Laura, my fab dentist, getting a tooth repaired.

I had the wonderful privilege to be included in the MacNamee family christmas this evening. They draw names and hand make gifts for one another. It is so wonderful. Thank you MacNamee family…for including me and always making me feel like family. Next year I’m making a gift!

Yesterday. I forgot. Work, new rookie firefighter, ems class, general every shift busyness. And I forgot.

Happy birthday yesterday to my wonderful brother-in-law Kenny!

Years ago when I was assigned to a station near KU med center, my BFF and I had coffee most mornings when I got off shift. It was wonderful. We saw each other for 30 minutes a morning or two a week and we both have missed it.
Two promotions and two stations later we have figured out how to add our morning ‘cuppas’ back into our lives.
Today was cuppa number one. The Starbucks looks a little different but out friendship is as strong as ever.
